The following two sample wedding itineraries are guides to allow you to see some of the more common choices brides and grooms make. Please don't feel that you have to follow either down to the last detail - take what you'd like from either (or add to them) and make it your own!
Wedding #1
The structure is based on what the Bride and Groom are ready for. Why rush anything?
- First hour or so (time depending):
- Strictly cocktail music (Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Jimmy Buffett, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sonny & Cher, etc.)
- When the Bride and Groom arrive:
- Announce the wedding party (ringbearers, parents of the Bride, parents of the Groom, Ushers and Bridesmaids, Best Man and Maid of Honor, and .... Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. & Mrs. ....)
- Wedding Party sits:
- Best Man's toast
- Blessing
- Announcment of eating arrangements
- Strictly dinner music (Billy Joel, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Stevie Wonder, Barry White, Tony Bennett, etc.)
- When the Wedding Party is finished eating:
- Bride and Groom dance (selected favorite)
- Father of the Bride and Mother of the Groom dance (Recommended: "Unforgettable")
- Wedding Party dance (Recommended: "You've Got A Friend")
- Everybody Dance Now:
- Invite everyone onto the dance floor
- After 35 minutes, Cut the Cake
- Two more dances, Garter and Bouquet toss
- Open Invitation to Dance:
- Dance the night away
Wedding #2
The Bride and Groom decided to choose every song. They also chose the exact times for each part of the wedding.
- First hour or so until Bride and Groom Arrive:

- The Arrival of the Bride and Groom:
- Announce the Wedding Party (Mother of the Groom, Mother & Father of the Bride, Ringbearers, Flower Girls, Bridesmaids and Ushers, Best Man and Maid of Honor, Then, Mr. & Mrs. ...)
- Wedding Party Sits:
- Best Man's toast
- Announcement of the caterer and the eating arrangements
- When the Wedding Party is finished eating:
- Bride and Groom dance while wedding party pulls bell strings (Faith Hill - "Just To Hear You Say You Love Me")
- Father of the Bride and Mother of the Groom dance (Natalie Cole - "Unforgettable")
- Everyone is invited to dance:
- Wait 1/2 hour, then Cut the Cake
- Dollar Dance
- Garter and Bouquet toss
- Invite everyone to an open dance floor:
- Join the Bride and Groom in their celebration!
